How it works

Five Steps, One Advisor

From rate to delivery with the same transportation advisor on your file. Your card is not touched until a carrier has been assigned.

Get your rate I

Get your rate

Enter two ZIP codes and your vehicle class. The estimator prices the real road distance and shows open and enclosed figures on screen.

Book II

Book

A transportation advisor confirms the details and your preferred pickup window. Nothing is charged yet.

Dispatch III

Dispatch

We assign your vehicle to a vetted carrier with verified cargo coverage and send you the driver's details.

Pickup IV

Pickup

You get a call the day before. At pickup the driver walks the vehicle with you and notes its condition on the Bill of Lading, which you both sign.

Delivery V

Delivery

A second call comes before arrival. You compare the vehicle against the pickup report, sign off, and settle the balance with the driver.

Pricing

Rates That Step Down the Farther You Go

Carriers price a lane by the mile, and the per-mile cost falls as the run gets longer because the fixed costs of loading and dispatch are spread across more road. Our estimator works the same way, so a cross-country move is not simply eight short moves added together.

  • $195 base covering dispatch, carrier vetting and advisor time
  • $1.05 per mile for the first 500 miles, stepping down to $0.48 beyond 1,500
  • Enclosed adds a flat $500 on any lane
  • Door-to-door service included on every estimate

A 1,000-mile move lands near $1,030. Chicago to Los Angeles is about $1,599. An advisor confirms the figure before anything is dispatched.

Dispatch without a scratch, or your money back

Damage documented on the Bill of Lading at delivery goes to the carrier's insurer first. If they deny it, ExecuShip reimburses your service fee or the repair, whichever is less. The industry standard was not good enough, so we raised it. Conditions apply.

FAQ

Questions, Answered

How much does it cost to ship a car with ExecuShip?

Price is driven by distance, carrier type and vehicle size. Our estimator applies a $195 base plus a per-mile rate that steps down the further the vehicle travels: $1.05 per mile for the first 500 miles, $0.62 per mile up to 1,500, and $0.48 per mile beyond that. A 1,000-mile open-carrier move lands near $1,030; Chicago to Los Angeles is around $1,599. Enclosed adds a flat $500.

Is the estimate the price I will pay?

It is a close estimate based on current lane pricing. A transportation advisor confirms the final rate with you before a carrier is dispatched, and that confirmed figure is what you pay. No money changes hands until a carrier has accepted the vehicle.

What is "Dispatch Without a Scratch"?

Our guarantee. If your vehicle is damaged in transit, the damage is documented on the Bill of Lading at delivery, and the carrier's insurer denies the claim, ExecuShip reimburses your service fee or the repair cost, whichever is less. Full conditions are in our terms.

How many days will the shipment take?

Carriers cover roughly 400 to 500 miles a day under federal hours-of-service rules. Chicago to Florida is usually three to four days once loaded; coast to coast runs seven to ten. Add a pickup window of one to five days on top.

Is my car insured while it is on the truck?

Yes. Every carrier we dispatch holds active cargo coverage, which we verify before your vehicle is assigned. Any damage claim is filed against the carrier's policy. Belongings packed inside the vehicle fall outside that coverage.

Can I pack belongings in the car?

Up to 100 lbs, stowed in the trunk or below the window line. Carriers are licensed for vehicles, not household goods, and belongings are excluded from cargo coverage.
