What the Estimate Reflects
- The lane. Real road distance between your pickup and delivery ZIPs, not a zone chart.
- The carrier. Open is standard. Enclosed adds a flat $500.
- The vehicle. Larger vehicles take more deck space, so SUVs, pickups and oversize units price a little higher than a sedan.
- Current lane rates. What carriers are accepting on that corridor right now.
Fuel, seasonal demand on your specific lane, modifications and tight dates can move the final rate. Your advisor confirms it before dispatch.
What moves the number
- Vehicle class. Three-row SUVs, crew-cab pickups and lifted trucks use more deck space and weight allowance.
- Running condition. A winch-equipped carrier costs more and there are fewer of them.
- Season. Snowbird lanes tighten in October and April; summer is busy everywhere.
- Pickup location. Metro to metro prices best. A rural pickup ninety minutes off the interstate costs the carrier a detour.
- Lead time. Two to three weeks beats needing a truck tomorrow.
How it works
Five Steps, One Advisor
From rate to delivery with the same transportation advisor on your file. Your card is not touched until a carrier has been assigned.
I
Get your rate
Enter two ZIP codes and your vehicle class. The estimator prices the real road distance and shows open and enclosed figures on screen.
II
Book
A transportation advisor confirms the details and your preferred pickup window. Nothing is charged yet.
III
Dispatch
We assign your vehicle to a vetted carrier with verified cargo coverage and send you the driver's details.
IV
Pickup
You get a call the day before. At pickup the driver walks the vehicle with you and notes its condition on the Bill of Lading, which you both sign.
V
Delivery
A second call comes before arrival. You compare the vehicle against the pickup report, sign off, and settle the balance with the driver.
FAQ
Questions, Answered
How much does it cost to ship a car with ExecuShip?
Price is driven by distance, carrier type, vehicle size and season. A 1,000-mile open-carrier move lands near $1,030; Chicago to Los Angeles is around $1,599. Enclosed adds a flat $500. Run your own ZIP codes through the estimator for a figure on your lane.
Is the estimate the price I will pay?
It is a close estimate based on current lane pricing. A transportation advisor confirms the final rate with you before a carrier is dispatched, and that confirmed figure is what you pay. No money changes hands until a carrier has accepted the vehicle.
What is "Dispatch Without a Scratch"?
Our guarantee. If your vehicle is damaged in transit, the damage is documented on the Bill of Lading at delivery, and the carrier's insurer denies the claim, ExecuShip reimburses your service fee or the repair cost, whichever is less. Full conditions are in our terms.
How many days will the shipment take?
Carriers cover roughly 400 to 500 miles a day under federal hours-of-service rules. Chicago to Florida is usually three to four days once loaded; coast to coast runs seven to ten. Add a pickup window of one to five days on top.
Is my car insured while it is on the truck?
Yes. Every carrier we dispatch holds active cargo coverage, which we verify before your vehicle is assigned. Any damage claim is filed against the carrier's policy. Belongings packed inside the vehicle fall outside that coverage.
